Products are categorized in Compass Ecommerce:Solutions using "Web Categories".  These are the tabs and sub-tabs which web browsers use in order to find the right product on-line. Compass Ecommerce:Solutions allows an unlimited number of Web Categories and products can be included in an unlimited number of Web Categories.
