Counting

Pinpoint Warehouse:Solutions allow you to take advantage of cycle counting and eliminate the need to cease operations in order to undertake full physical counts. Each product can be designated a count frequency to ensure a minimum number of annual counts. Dependent on the total number of counts required throughout the warehouse on an annual basis, count tasks are then assigned on a continuous basis to accomplish the plan.

Counts are also confirmed with each empty bin confirmation during picking tasks. With the logic inherent in Pinpoint Warehouse:Solutions, high velocity products are counted more frequently than others. This practice is desirable because it is generally high velocity items that experience a greater degree of inaccuracy.

As count tasks are accomplished, any count that corresponds with the expected number is automatically accepted, whereas any count where the number varies results in a recount task being assigned to a different operator and the bin being quarantined until an accurate count is established. All actual counts are communicated to the host system immediately and adjusted when necessary. Pinpoint Warehouse:Solutions can be configured to inform the warehouse manager immediately via cell-phone, pager, or email alert when a location is quarantined.
